Berthold Beitz Student Trips to Berlin enter the second round with great interest: 22 schools from Essen apply for a trip to Berlin

In 2023, the Krupp Foundation, in collaboration with the City of Essen and the Jewish Museum Berlin, has launched a three-year programme to promote German-Jewish understanding: ‘Berthold Beitz Student Trips to Berlin’ enables school classes from Essen to travel to Berlin to learn more about German-Jewish history. The second round of applications met with great interest: 22 school classes submitted enthusiastic applications. The city of Essen has now drawn ten classes from grades 8 to 13, including five grammar schools, four secondary schools and one vocational college. The funding from the Krupp Foundation totalling EUR 10,000 per school group includes travel to and from the event, up to three nights’ accommodation with meals, entrance fees and guided tours of the selected museums and memorial sites.

Applications for the third round will be possible from autumn 2025.
