Children and families can look forward to a varied programme at the Hügel in 2026

In 2026, the Krupp Foundation will once again offer a varied programme for children and families in the Villa Hügel and in the Hügelpark. In addition to established activities, the Foundation is specifically developing new formats. The activities start on Sunday, 22 March at 4 p.m. with a children’s screening as part of the Hügel-Kino (cinema), which this year will feature short films and educational mediation. Other highlights throughout the year, such as a Tai Chi summer holiday offer on six Mondays and the Hügel Family Day on 30 August, round off the programme.

In addition, families can explore Villa Hügel as part of special guided tours for families or experience the industrial monument and the park on their own with the help of a playful children’s tour in the free Hügel-App. For the first time, children can now discover the room about the Krupp Foundation in the Small House of Villa Hügel, which offers a digital game, with newly designed children’s cards. The recently published edition of the ‘Essay und Archiv’ series entitled ‘Kindheit auf dem Hügel’ offers a glimpse into the Krupps’ childhood.

With numerous funding projects such as the construction of the child protection shelter in cooperation with the Child Protection Association or the realization of a midwifery practice in the north of Essen, the Foundation has been committed to supporting children and young people since the beginning of its activities.
