Third round: Krupp Foundation continues Essen initiative to prevent sexualized violence in children’s and youth sports together with ESPO

After two successful rounds, the Krupp Foundation is now continuing the “Essen Initiative against Sexualized Violence in Children’s and Youth Sports”. The third round, which will start in May 2025 under the auspices of the Essener Sportbund e.V. (ESPO), will focus on competitive sport and, for the first time, involve two schools with a sports focus in addition to eight Essen sports clubs. The aim of the initiative is to raise awareness of the issue among those involved in sports institutions and to create structures that help prevent assaults. The Krupp Foundation supports each participating institution with €2,000.

The institutions participating in the third round – including Elsa-Brändström-Realschule, ESC Moskitos Essen e.V., Essener Jugend-Eiskunstlaufverein e.V., Helmholtz Gymnasium, Kanusport-Gemeinschaft Essen e.V., SG Essen-Schönebeck 19/68 e.V., Sport- und Tanzinternat Essen e.V., Startgemeinschaft Essen e.V., Team Talente Essen e.V., Turn- und Sportverein Essen Margarethenhöhe e.V. – should be enabled to prevent sexualized violence, recognize it and become capable of taking action.
