Krupp scholarship holders are organising a two-day symposium entitled “Caring for Photography” at the Museum Folkwang
On Friday, April 24, and Saturday, April 25, 2026, the symposium “Caring for Photography. Care in Curatorial and Photographic Practice” will take place at the Museum Folkwang in Essen. The symposium is organised by the current scholarship holders Dortje Fink, Esra Klein and Noa Lohrmann from the scholarship programme “Museum Curators for Photography”. National and international curators, artists, educators and researchers are invited to talk about curatorial care as a lived practice. The symposium is free of charge and no registration is required. Over the course of the two-day event, participants will be invited to reflect collectively on care as a participatory practice of learning from one another through various panels, lectures and a guided tour/workshop. Contributors include, among others, Sascia Bailer, Dawoud Bey, Susanne Keichel, Lisa Klosterkötter, Cate Lartey, Fiona McGovern, Aslı Özdemir, Guinevere Ras, Roxana Rios and Mark Sealy.
