Rock sounds at Villa Hügel: Kadavar are coming to Essen on 7 November
On 7 November 2026, the Berlin-based hard and psychedelic rock band Kadavar will play a concert at Villa Hügel. At 8 pm, the band will transform the Krupp family’s former living room into an extraordinary concert venue. Advance ticket sales begin on Tuesday, 6 October at 6 pm.
Since their formation in 2010, Kadavar have been thrilling their fans with a unique blend of hard rock, psychedelic rock and stoner rock that draws on the sound of the 1970s. With several successful studio albums, international tours and high-energy live performances, the band has established itself far beyond the German rock scene.
With their new album “K.A.D.A.V.A.R.”, the Berlin-based band is now returning to its musical roots. The latest release combines powerful riffs, driving grooves and the raw energy for which Kadavar has been known for years.
The concert evening will be opened by singer and actress Christin Nichols. With her songs spanning indie rock, post-punk and new wave, she will set the tone for a varied musical programme.
The concert is being organised in collaboration with the non-profit association Zinnober e.V., which promotes alternative music scenes. The event offers cultural access to a wide audience.
The Villa Hügel has always been a place of music. Engelbert Humperdinck, the composer of the opera “Hansel and Gretel”, used to play here. Today, regular concerts by the Folkwang Chamber Orchestra, as well as numerous other events, continue this tradition. With the open-air concerts in the anniversary year 2023 and the autumn concert, which has been an established event since 2024, the Krupp Foundation is opening Villa Hügel up to new musical formats and a wider audience. Following Drangsal and Die Sterne, Kadavar is the third band in the series.
