The Krupp Foundation presents its ongoing commitment at the Federal President’s Citizens’ Festival

The Alfried Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach Foundation has been invited to present its non-profit work at the Federal President’s Citizens’ Festival on 5 September 2026. The event, which is taking place this year in the park of Villa Hammerschmidt in Bonn, is being dedicated by Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier to volunteer work and civic engagement in Germany. The invitation to participate in the Citizens’ Festival is a special recognition of the Foundation’s decades of funding activities, through which more than €700 million has been committed to charitable projects in the fields of science, education, art and culture, health and sports.

The day offers visitors the opportunity to visit the Federal President’s official residence in Bonn and explore the historic rooms of the Villa Hammerschmidt. Visitors can see the Head of State in action during a podium discussion, reading to children or walking through the grounds.

At its booth, the Krupp Foundation invites visitors to meet the Foundation and learn about its projects, as well as to engage in conversation. Those interested can test their knowledge of the Foundation through a digital game. As a special highlight and a nod to the Foundation’s commitment to children’s and youth sport, visitors can put their basketball skills to the test in a throwing competition, as well as discover and try out new sports using VR technology.

Admission to the Federal President’s Citizens’ Festival is free. Visitors will need a ticket to gain entry. Tickets can be booked from 10 August.
