The Krupp Foundation awards two scholarships for the programme ‘Contemporary German Photography’

In collaboration with the Museum Folkwang’s Photography Collection, the Krupp Foundation is once again awarding two grants for the ‘Contemporary German Photography’ programme. The scholarships are each funded with 13,000 euros and are granted for a period of one year. Applications can now be submitted via the Krupp Foundation’s online application portal. The deadline for submitting application documents is 31 August 2026.

Photographers from all areas of artistic practice may apply. Applicants must have been living in Germany for at least the last three years but not have German citizenship. There are no age or educational restrictions. The application for a scholarship must be made in conjunction with a planned photographic project. This project may already have started. At the end of the grant period, the two fellows will present their projects at a public event.

Established in 1982, the scholarship is one of the most prestigious awards for Contemporary Photography in Germany. With this open funding programme, the Krupp Foundation aims to promote a contemporary artistic exploration of photographic perspectives and modes of representation. The Photographic Collection at the Folkwang Museum coordinates this funding programme.
